Welcome to the AYAMI Comfort Lab

When we started AYAMI, we thought we were building a clothing brand.

It didn't take long to realise we were building something else, too.

Every conversation uncovered another story. Someone told us about a seam they had avoided for years. Someone else explained how finding work clothes was harder than finding the job itself. Others spoke about sensory overload, chronic pain, mobility, overheating, or simply never feeling like clothing had been designed with them in mind.

Again and again, we heard the same sentence:

"I thought I was the only one."

The truth is, none of us are.

That's why we're launching the AYAMI Comfort Lab.

What is the Comfort Lab?

The Comfort Lab is a community where people can share experiences, ideas, frustrations, and discoveries about clothing and comfort.

Some members are autistic. Others have ADHD, lipedema, arthritis, eczema, chronic pain, mobility differences, or body proportions that mainstream fashion rarely considers. Some don't identify with any particular label at all.

You don't need a diagnosis.
You don't need to own AYAMI clothing.

If you're interested in making clothing more comfortable—for yourself or someone else—you belong here.

Clothing designed with people

At AYAMI, we don't believe the best ideas come from sitting alone in a design studio.

They come from listening.

The Comfort Lab gives us a place to do exactly that.

We'll share what we're working on, the questions we're exploring, and the ideas we're testing. More importantly, we'll ask for your feedback. Your experiences will help shape future garments, features, and priorities.

Because the people wearing the clothes should have a voice in creating them.

More than clothing

One thing we've learned is that people often invent brilliant solutions for themselves.

A trick for reducing irritation.

A favourite fabric no one talks about.

A way of adapting a garment.

A product that unexpectedly changed everyday life.

The Comfort Lab is a place to exchange those ideas. Not because anyone has all the answers, but because together we know far more than any one of us does alone.

• Early access to new developments.
